Lead Public Health Specialist
The World Bank

Benjamin Loevinsohn is a lead public health specialist at the World Bank, which he joined in 1999. He is the team leader for health sector activities in Afghanistan and Pakistan and works on health systems issues throughout the South Asia region. He also works on monitoring and evaluation. Prior to joining the World Bank, Dr. Loevinsohn worked as a senior health specialist at the Asian Development Bank, advisor to Philippine Department of Health; Technical Officer, UNICEF, Sudan; and Primary Care Physician, Government of Nicaragua. Dr. Loevinsohn did his medical training at McMaster University in Canada and studied public health at Harvard University. He is the author of more than 20 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
